Among the best kept secrets in British sport is the scandalously high number of racing-age Thoroughbred horses who die every year. They die as a result of injury, heart attack or some other performance-related condition - or they are killed simply because they no longer make the commercial grade. This film explores the different reasons why these horses die.

  • The narrator is either a liar or an idiot.

  • What other sport has 11 deaths in 1 month of racing; 2 of those being heart attacks on the track! The race horse industry is the biggest contributor to horse slaughter, because they are bred faster than a winner is found. At 3 they are still babies, who although give their utmost during the race, are pushed harder & faster; ultimately paying with their life. Many injuries can be fixed but owners don't want to waste money on a horse that may never race again, because its cheaper to buy another!!

  • I cannot stand to see horses in distress...they're my initial reason for going veg a long time ago. The racing industry commodifies them while people in it pretend to love them, yet they themselves don't ever want to be "loved" like that.
