UP C45ACCTE (still in GE demo colors) leads a manifest freight westard through Ames, IA on May 26, 2007. Note the Rio Grande SD50, third in the consist, now numbered UP 9846. It looks pretty shiny for probably not having seen a paint shop since 1991...

  • It finally got painted, eh? I recall there being some irritation on UP's part that every time they sent it east to Erie to get painted, it always managed to end up working it's way back west on a train. Happened more than once.
