@boltont1996 Maybe on purpose built trails. But if your freeriding on random terain and you come across a very steep slope with a sharp corner at the bottom you're going to need to learn how to use the front brake to go down the hill at a slow speed. Just using your back brake would result in the entire bike wanting to flip around. The front brake doesn't just go on and off, it can be used gradually too.

@codblackops4eva 300$ mountain bike? Sadly mtb sport is not that cheap you might have to go in 800$ before anything good.

figured that out today as i flipped over the handle bars and fuged my arms up lots of blood (always good :L), and i agree DO NOT use your front brake at all on a decent

@MIKECOLESHILL yeah :) i bought an american bike once took forever for me to work out the front brake was on the left

im sorry but in DH you do want to use your rear brake to drake the back end out because of wet rocks and other obstacles
