A cover of "Amorphis - The Smoke" by "Meits" on an MSX2 homecomputer (1986) with an OPL4 soundchip.
Loaded ~ 64 kilobytes of custom samples. The rest is onboard Yamaha GM.
Arranged in the MSX tracker MoonBlaster/MBWave.
I re-recorded this for Meits with improved resolution settings.
Follow Meits's activities on MRC: http://www.msx.org/user.php?op=userinfo&uname=MeitsNearDark
Get MoonBlaster for MoonSound through Marcel Delorme's site: http://members.chello.nl/m.delorme/mbwave.htm
Wave recording of this song can be downloaded from: http://msx.fixato.net/media/audio/Meits%20(Jelle%20Jelsma)%20-%20The%20Smoke%...
I've recorded this using openMSX dev11467 (http://openmsx.fixato.net/builds/mac/universal/openmsx-0.8.0-11467-mac-univ-bin.dmg) (0.8.0 pre-release) for Mac. This MSX emulator is available for Intel and PPC Macs, Linux and Windows.
Go to http://openMSX.sf.net to find out more about the openMSX emulator, or head over to http://openmsx.fixato.net to grab the latest Windows or Mac builds.
To simplify and automate recording of MBWave tracks, I've also created a TCL script for openMSX, which can be downloaded from http://gist.github.com/345595
@Worp3music It's as close I could get to the original with a Moonsound... Check the original... It's around on Youtube for sure...
