Has Ray Comfort ever been an ignorant twat? Yes. So what is Ray Comfort? An ignorant twat. QED

If the God of the Bible exists, we are SOL, cuz sin in peeps actually goes deeper than actions. The actions are the fulfillment, the evidence of a fallen condition, a sin nature. This nature in all of us drives enmity against God & resulting selfish pride & arrogance. We naturally demand autonomy & take credit for creating ourselves. That pride blinds us from truth & ensures an eternity separated from God & all we know to be good. But there is an antidote. Only one...

In our moral relativism, we naturally tend to judge others more harshly than we do ourselves (e.g., it's quite common for peeps to justify their own actions & avoid labeling themselves a liar; no matter how often they do it. Yet when asked, "If I lied to YOU, what would you call ME?", they are quick to say, "a liar". Ain’t no logic there. Are you appreciating the difficulty of conveying the idea of absolute standards of goodness to the morally-relativistic minds of humans?

The connection between doing a deed & being characterized by it has logical validity. The problem for us is when it exactly occurs. But it doesn't NOT make sense. Morally-relativistic thinking of humans makes such determinations vary. In our relativistic delusion we justify our intent & actions that God sees as rebellious. We call them "good". God calls it sin & His condemnation awaits. The goal in the "label game" is to help people begin to see the truth about what's inside.

What you are calling "sound logic" is more like a leap of logic. Think about it. Wouldn't a good deed actually extrapolate to a "good deed doer'? Your conclusion ignores any potential relative contribution of bad & neutral deeds into the equation of what makes a good person. It begs the question (assumes the conclusion). In the Biblical account of God's viewpoint, being a "good deed doer" can't counteract being a "liar", a "thief", or an "adulterer at heart".

@netsrfull I agree with you to some extent.. the problem i have with this is in the logic... if lie= liar
then good= good person I mean you can't extrapolate the one and not the other.. if you are going to make one lie the standard for a liar... then one good deed has to be the standard for a good person... do you see the problem here... I think you just need to come up with a better test that uses sound logic.. that's all.
Have you ever told a lie... yes.. what does that make you .. a liar.
Have you ever done a good deed.. yes.. what does that make you. a good person
Your test fails.. it does not make sense. Good thing you don't try this on someone that is intelligent.

@Triathlete5551 Well as someone who claims to be more intelligent that Chris let see how you would do. If you admit you ever lied, you're a liar. Do a good deed, you would still be a liar. The test is perfect,! Lets looks at another ex: you take something that belongs to someone else and then do a good deed by given it to someone who is in need, you're still a thief. Doing a good deed does not eradicate evil. The beginning question, "was he good enough to get into Heaven? None of us are!
