  • Best way to get a turtle to lay eggs in captivity is to provide a container of water within an enclosure of earth. There should be an amount of earth that the turtle can walk about, maybe even with some vegetation. The soil should be more then just sand. The turtle must be able to dig a flask shaped hole. If you cannot dig a flask shaped hole in the soil with your finger then she cannot dig either, the soil cannot be simply sand unless it's packed on a natural beach.
