They ARE for beginners....christ. The BEST players are self taught. Scales, Modes and pretty much everything you can do on the guitar was MADE, not taught. Show me a video of you playing guitar better than me and i'll shut up.

You can teach yourself after about six months once you get your picking and fret hand down, and you don't even need to go to lessons for that. so.... Plus there's always the internet like this video.
