  • Good acting but it's not Hamlet.

  • It cannot be denied: Monsieur Jacobi is very fit to play the more emotional and melancholy characters of Shakespeare like Richard II or Hamlet and he would have made a good Edgar/Edmund in King Lear too and I would love to see him as Timon of Athens; and of course this monolog of Hamlet was very well composed by Shakespeare; the comparison between Hecuba and Hamlet’s father: Hamlet’s curse upon his treacherous uncle and his plotting of revenge are fascinating.

  • I have seen seven different portrayals of Hamlet, including David Tennant's, Richard Burton's, Laurence Olivier's and Kenneth Branagh's, and in my opinion Derek Jacobi is the best one out of all of them. He is without a doubt one of the best Shakespearen actors of all time, and his performance of Hamlet should be seen by everyone. Truly breathtaking!

  • Nice!

  • Amazing! thanks so much for putting this upp!! Jacobi is a fine, unique, Hamlet.

  • Using this soliloquy for an audition. Thanks!
