@suzuki4life7 my personal opinion is to run it on the dyno first to see if everything holds up at high speeds, and to see what its max horsepower, torque, and speed is...any other time id completely agree with you

@BoostAlmighty3001 you do get more airflow... but thats not accurate to how much power your actually gonna make. Are you gonna drag race, autocross, street race with your hood open? No, therefor its not an accurate reading. But I do understand the wires, but couldn't you have the hood closed to a crack?

Most cars are dyno'd with the hood up because tack signal wires have to be hooked up and for more airflow.
