Here are some clips from this week's session. I had really sweaty hands and just could not get a grip for long enough. I had hoped to have another go at the gemini and a butterfly, I did attempt the gemini a couple of times but didn't get it quite right, but I've included it anyway because I find it helpful to see other people's mistakes sometimes, it helps me to identify where I'm screwing up myself, so maybe someone out there will find it useful. I was just slipping straight down the pole when I tried a butterfly so that was a no-go.

However, I did achieve something this week. You know how I really want to be able to do pretty spins, well I think I got some nice ones this time, and I learned a new one, the monkey spin (Edit: I've since seen it called the Pretzel, and the monkey spin is something entirely different..). It's funny because it's one I'd seen Emily and MaidMaryan do and had been wondering how to do it, and my pal says this week "ooh I know what you can learn!" lol.

I also want to be able to do stuff on spin, it looks so graceful when other people do it, and I did actually manage to link a few things together.

I tried to do a handstand into a cross-knee hold, I can do it the other way round, but from the attempt I put in here you can see I'm not quite comfortable with it yet. I'm adding it to the list of things to practise over the next couple of weeks!

  • Thanks Joel :)

  • Speeding on through, such progression - love it! :D

  • Thank you! :)

  • your spins are looking really good huni...esp at 0.56 (what we call the firefly) was great..some of my ladies have struggled with this but you did it really well hun ;-D x

The gemini..if you push your right leg back further so it is straight (parallel to the floor) and try squeezing the pole with your armpitt (right side) too as a secondary point of contact, push the hips forward and arch the back slightly..you will nail this in no time babe..keep up the good work..looking fabulous xxxx

  • I like the name firefly - bit of a Serenity fan! Thanks - I started by figuring out where my legs should go on spin, then worked up to the spin on static, so you just see the finished product lol! Thanks for the gemini tips, hopefully my next vid will show a successful one :)

  • Aw thanks hon :)

  • Actually, I liked that reverse grip attitude spin at the very beginning the best of all--that's a really pretty spin. As far as the the curl up---coming up from the floor requires a lot of abdominal strenghth--and you are probably extended further down than you would be if you started the move from the release to begin with--so don't be surprised if that's really hard. The Gemini will come--keep at it!

  • lookin good girl! you're so close to all those moves you wanna get, bet you'll have them in no time!
