uh, coe, theres a better way to make a mushroom farm. u put a sticky piston on a swich, and after the mushrooms grow, u flip the swich and the water instantly harvestes the mushrooms 4 u!

you could have a piston in the floor facing up that will push the cobble up and out into your lab

spiffy design -- found this while looking for ideas to make mine more compact. alas this no longer works; lava now furns water to stone when it drops into it (since this is 4 months old, i am probably teaching my grandma to suck eggs here ;). but the sticky piston inspired me -- i didn't end up using it because it was easier to push the cobblestone out from underneath. but hey, your video set me thinking in a new direction. thanks! i really enjoy watching somebody else's building process.

Hey Coe, I was thinking and I thought that you could somehow make the generator vertically, you could make like a quick watchtower of sorts, like stand on this block and press a button and boom, you have an elevator to the sky!
