This is clipped from the 1944 cartoon, Its Murder She Says ..., of the Private Snafu series. It show a variety of mosquito control and other methods to reduce the spread of malaria in the 1940s. While malaria is not an issue in the USA today, workers here face many other biological hazards. For the latest information on tick-borne disease that threaten workers in the US, go to the new NIOSH website at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/tick-borne/ . Private Snafu is the title character of a series of black-and-white American instructional cartoon shorts produced between 1943 and 1945 during World War II. The character was created by director Frank Capra, chairman of the U.S. Army Air Force First Motion Picture Unit, and some of the shorts were written by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel.
