when i was a kid , i loved the name moondog mayne. the name moondog meant mean. pro wrestling was once an enjoyment to watch, now the only thing i watch are youtube matches the great fans of wrestling put up for our pleasure. thanks
pipes vs lonnie mayne.other boys.watch this.you will learn something.in ring work as promos no disrespect to the boys now.just that some of them need to learn a little.i aint gonna point you out you know who you are.
That ring...! I remember that ring at the old Cow Paddy. It was used there for years...even when the AWA came and took over the territory. I don't know how the wrestlers endured it because the damn thing was so hard...and it barely had any give to it. PLUS...it was the tallest ring in wrestling. It had to be a good 4 1/2 feet high. What you saw the ref fall on in the foreground was a timekeeper's table which I thing was built into...the ring was originally a boxing ring a long time ago...
This is a knock-down,drag-out affair for sure! It was a shame that Piper had his hand raised in vcitory though due to Moondog Mayne's profuse bleeding. Great video!
@krl8814 Yes, I agree with you 100%! Piper's feuds with Chavo Guerrero at the Olympic Auditorium out of Los Angeles were what kept me watching Lucha Libre! Great point!
this is fucking great!!!! you can SMELL the heat at this match. this piper/moondog thing is new to me, but man, was piper laying the groundwork for the next 20 years of wrestling. he could piss everybody off...even his erstwhile tag partner. a fantastic clip! thanks!!!
THIS is the feud that set my wrestling addiction in motion as a kid. Piper tried to eat a goldfish like Mayne did. Didn't work out well for him.

"Rowdy Roddy is the name, Pugilism is the game Jack!"
Great promo! No cue cards, no teleprompters, no Hollywood script writers.
