If you char the skin you can peel it easy as well plus it gives a really nice smokey flavour. I always do with soup.

And the tomato thing - YES. I hate supermarket ones, nasty and bitty. My grandma grows them and gave me a small tree two years ago. NOW WHO HAS THE BEST TOMATOES?!
