Homewood Band - 2008 show first 2 songs

This is just a teaser...not the best of circumstances at Vestavia because the home crowd is so damn noisy...but I managed to film the first two songs of the show without cursing at someone to shut the hell up...the last two songs are awesome and will come soon but they killed Vestavia tonight...they got a standing O from the home crowd and the VHS band didn't. Entertainment = Homewood Patriot Band.

Im a trumpet in the oak mountain band and i know that our fans aren't the nicest ppl ever, but i think the mountain brook fans were the worst. every time we'd start playing the'd start booing us. it was really difficult to play with all that going on. all the bands we played against so far have been pretty good. i really liked the patriots :)

Thanks. I don't remember MB doing anything like that to us last year. We go there in a couple of weeks. Their stadium is weird anyway with just one grandstand.

I was GOING to film the 3rd song and the closer at Oak Mountain but their home crowd was so freaking rude and disrespectful I didn't even try. Much worse than Vestavia and their band was a total snuzefest for the first time EVER I didn't even stay over there to watch their show they pissed me off THAT MUCH...I'll film the band at home from now on.

Ah, so you're a tuba well now I know. I'll try to get some tuba sound next time. It's weird how you hear things differently live and on videos and even the DVDs that pro-cat makes. I can't hardly ever hear the clarinets but I know that all of the sections make up the great sound of the Homewood band and they wouldn't sound the same without one of those sections.

for vestavia's defense, their show this year has to be the weakest in a few years (graduated rebel band member)

even though i was at the game for the Rebel football, it was kind of a letdown listening to homewood's band outplay people i know in the rebel band heh

Thanks I guess! LOL. We brought our A-game band cuz we knew we didn't have much of a chance to win the game. Seriously, though this show this year has really come together. It was a little wobbly at first. My daughter is a Senior band member and they had 30 something Senior band members graduate last year so I was afraid they were a little down on talent but they have worked their arses off on this show and it's looking fantastic!

Vestavia band, while certainly good, never has been, and never will be as good as Homewood. Homewood has the total package, from entertaining music that audience can actually enjoy to the unmatched Star Spangled Girls.

As was I. The description of this video is very false and it offended me quite a bit. The Vestavia crowd doesn't care about any band except for Carvers and Minors. That's because they are a show band and Vestavia kids don't know anything about a real marching band.

Congratulations??? Vestavia is going to London for the biggest parade internationally and they were also on TV for getting invited there. This is so pointless to argue like this. Both of the bands are great I just really hate it when someone tries to undermine the hard work these kids and their parents put into the band programs at both schools. You should try being more supportive of others.

dude, we are going to the st. Patrick's day parade next year .

we have also been envied to the rose parade in 2013 because of how well we did at the rose parade this year.

They did win 1st place at the invitational...I don't know what more you could ask for.
