Love it. So easy! The question I have is did you make your mat that you sewed on?

The table? It's actually some old cabinets Dad put a counter top on and a cutting mat. If you mean the ironing board, yes, Mom made that one, you can see it in the "ironing mat" tutorial she did!

I really enjoyed this it appears difficult when you look at it, but showing us how with three strips of fabric it's amazing. Thanks for sharing, watch Missouri Quilt Co all the time plus I made my first quilt by watching your videos.

I am a beginner quilter and tried this tutorial. I really wanted to do the chevron blocks, but it does not work. When you take into account the 1/4 inch seam allowance the points will not match up. And it comes out very wonky. The hourglass and double square both work perfectly, though. Thank you for a good tutorial. My quilt is not looking the way I originally planned, but is beautiful nonetheless.

Sorry for the confusion. Jenny accidentally said the resulting set would be 4 1/4" wide, when as you mentioned it actually is 4 1/2".

If you sew two 2 1/2" strips together the width will be 4 1/2" not 4 1/4" so would the third strip not have to be 4 1/2" wide? I have made 2 quilts using your tutorial. The first one I had to cut 1/8" from the width of both strips so the 4 1/4" strip would match width wise. The 2nd one I cut the 3rd strip 4 1/2" wide & everything was perfect. I love your tutorials! Keep up the good work.

How cool is this! I have cut most of my stash into 2.5" strips and this is a wonderful way to use some of them up.

We love the possibilities with half-square triangles, and the tube quilting adds a great look and ease to piecing. Have fun!

I'd give flannel a try. There should be no problem using this method with it. You can pin more as you sew should you find slipping to be a problem, but I don't think it will be trouble. Have fun!

Jenny can you use flannel with this pattern? No one ever shows patterns with flannel is there a reason for this?

It's somewhat of an illusion looking at the unfinished squares, but there is 1/4" left on edge of squares to keep points when you put it all together. Working with half-square-triangles does require a lot of pinning and careful ironing not to stretch if you are having troubles with points matching. Hope that helps!
