  • Just asking what do you atheists say when a homeless person says, "God Bless You"?... Just wondering if you ignore it or respond to it!

  • @deltaenforcer93 - We get that a lot, and we always know that it's meant as a friendly thing to say to us. But as you might imagine, we also identify ourselves occasionally. About every 4 or 5 "God bless yous," I also say something like "You're welcome, and by the way we're some of those people who have no religion. Just so you know." And I've never heard anything other than neutral or positive responses to that.

  • @deltaenforcer93 I would say something like "Thank you", "I'm alright, just helping out is enough for me." or "The smiles I get are blessing enough." I'd definatly give hugs to everyone I could though. Smiles too.

  • @deltaenforcer93 I either ignore them if it's meant sarcastically but mostly I just let them know we are atheists and helping them. I almost always wear a t shirt at the give aways that says atheist on it.

  • I appreciate the efforts. Wife and I are Currently in the streets with next to nothing, trying to figure it out, check out channel for more info! <3

Our Christian families have pretty much disowned us both just for choosing to love each other. Every church, christian, etc we have tried to get help from ignores, judges, assumes, and overall chooses to shrug those in need off. We have a new view of religion ourselves now because of our misfortune. Keep up the good work.. check us out, thx.

  • @67nairb - Do you WANT there to be an afterlife? That's always the case with theists. Everything you believe about the afterlife and God coincides with what you want reality to be, right?

Go ahead, name something that your God did, said, or wanted, that YOU disagree with. I bet you can't, just like most of the Christians I have asked that question. It's very telling.

  • @67nairb - There was a time when no humans alive understood that the Earth is a ball-shaped sphere, and not a flat table, floating around as the center of the universe. Humanity can be as wrong as it can be right. The value of an idea rests not in the level of its popularity among the masses, but in the strength of the objectively verifiable and positive results of that idea in action. Atheists are people who expect results on that issue. Theists don't care about verifying results, in that area.

  • @67nairb - That's just denial of death. Trust me, people die. They don't come back to life. Their life doesn't change so much as it ends. People WANT to live forever. Well we still cannot change that reality by just wanting it to change. Or by telling ourselves it changes the way we want. To grow up and mature includes becoming honest about the fairy tales that used to keep us warm and cozy, like a shelter from the cold. Strength lies in braving that cold, in reality. It's not so bad.

  • @aajoeyjo I don't think of people as toys I just believe that I'll see them in another life after I die. 21 years ago when my Grandfather died the priest who gave his eulogy said that when people die their life changes but doesn't end. That was a very convincing.
