Annual summer beach trip. Mike, Nancy, Justin & Crystal.. we stumbled across a group building a HUGE sandcastle, and then hunted ghost shrimp with a bunch of random people. Lots of seaweed though.. The fishing was great and we caught a ton of speckled trout. It was a great week.

  • First, that lighthouse thingy took some serious planning. (My beach trips do not include that much planning!). Wish you had got a shot of the finished deal!

Second, I need a blog post explaining the plastic tube sucker things. NEVER seen this! Very curious and compelling.

Ahh. I love the beach. (And the mtns! This is why I live in NC.)

  • @jettglow The plastic tubes are like a big syringe and are used to extract "ghost shrimp" from the sand.. they live in little tunnels under the wet sand and you look for their air holes in the sand, then suck 'em up. They are used for bait.
