I've heard he was sick when he played this and even so he didn't cancel it. I've heard other lives performances and he was good.

im pretty sure this is where he has laryngitis. He had it for quite a while during the young modern era.

Daniel was not sick at this show. The band was just really rusty playing live, as evident by the tour following the album a year later. This concert, but especially this song performance, really sucked (in my opinion). Daniel's intention with 'Straight Lines' was much different compared to how he and the band played it a few months later in ths studio. I can picture Launay then - "it's too hard on your voice, tune down a half step, play slower...". Interesting version but I'm glad they redid it.

Daniel Johns, has an awesome voice. If, he would just work on a middle a bit he would be number one. Only thing might be to change back the style, but I know he had difficulties with his life..... I hope some one will see and tell him "work on the middle" !

He's still a genius despite what music he produces. This may not sound good but try listening to his other lives performances. He sounds incredible!
