My wonderful Grandpa used to say "put your shoes on Lucy" to me whenever shoes needed to be put on. This is the first time I've ever heard the song it's from. And it's great.

My teacher told the class to make a list of all of sounds we heard as kids, the teacher made a list herself, she wrote down "put your shoes on Lucy" and everyone in the class was saying it in these stupid voices. I don't think anybody in my class knew this was a song. The only reason i found out it was a song was because I was bored and remembered everyone in the class saying "Get your shoes on Lucy" so I searched it. By the way, my dogs name is Lucy.

My amazing Grandmother (who moved from Tennessee to the big city ) used to sing this to me every morning while I got my shoes on for school. I would ask others about this song and no one know what the heck I was talking about. Thank you soo much for posting this!!
