A native of Iceland, violinist Hlíf Sigurjónsdóttir studied at the Universities of Indiana and Toronto, Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada and with Gerald Beal in New York. During her studies she was fortunate enough to work with many of the leading musicians of the twentieth century, such as Franco Gulli, William Primrose, Gyorgy Sebok, Rucciero Ricci and Zoltan Szekely, the first violin of the original Hungarian Quartet.
