Uranium has never been mined east of the Mississippi River--for good reason. Kay Slaughter, senior attorney with the Southern Environmental Law Center, explains why mining and milling uranium in southern Virginia poses serious threats to the environment and public health.

  • can u send me some uranium?? i want to make my tortoise a super ninja tortoise.

  • great vid! nuclear waste is an unsolved threat, even if we don't have accidents or detonations, & depleted uranium deformities.

  • @elvisflorian You sure don't need another hole in your head. It's full of holes already. lol

  • @nickgonewalkabout you realise uranium mined would be strictly sold for power generation not not for weapon development. Uranium ore concentrate is of low security concern due to its low levels of fissile U-235. The nuclear materials used in uranium mining, conversion, enrichment and fuel fabrication present minimal risk to public health and safety. As for LPG it produces 10x the amount of CO2 and produces no where near the power that uranium can. Nuclear all the way!

  • Uranium is used for atomic bombs. Depleted Uranium weapons have a 4.5 billion yr death-spot wherever they fall. The Great Salt Lake is dead with mercury poisoning as a result of mining operations. Nuclear therefore, is unconscionable, dirty, expensive, the favorite only of tyrants and oligarchs. Natural gas the rainbow, a cleaner energy source virtually untapped with massive potential all around the world Check wiki and search Liquid Propane Gas.

  • Be quiet we need more and more uranium

  • Continued: I don't think Queen E. II means to close down any of the nuclear power plants in America any time soon. Several other nations have already quit accepting Nuclear power plants on their lands. Nuclear Power plants should be banned permanently. It's been proven again and again that nuclear power plants cannot be maintained safely and they constitute a mortal threat to this civilization.

  • Does anyone watching this video know that Queen Elizabeth II of G.B. owns all the mineral rights of the land mass known as the united States of America, ie North America all the way out past three miles from all coasts? It's something that should be common knowledge, but which has been kept from the Am. people. [source: Leuren Monet] Queen Elizabeth II probably owns the mineral rights to even more nations than ours, I'm sure. She's the owner of the largest private fortune on the planet.

  • there was no call to action in this great video... What do you want us to do? What can we do the help?

  • Great video! Thanks for posting it!
