(Short version) American Civil Liberties Union President Nadine Strossen addressed current civil liberties issues at a January 24, 2008 forum at Valparaiso University School of Law. Two Valparaiso Law professors, JoEllen Lind and D.A. Jeremy Telman, responded to Ms. Strossen's opening comments related to the Patriot Act.
"We looked forward to this forum on matters of importance to all Americans, especially given recent events in world history," said Valparaiso Law professor Penelope Andrews, who coordinated the event. "Valparaiso Law is proud to have offered both students and the community this opportunity to hear the views and experience of Nadine Strossen and our professors."
Valparaiso University School of Law, founded in 1879, is located on the campus of Valparaiso University in Northwest Indiana, 55 miles from downtown Chicago.
