Nice engine and idea.

In my humble opinion this is not the best could be done. Look at Turrican engine (from Pirx and Pecus), background and missiles move in more directions.

Actually a better question: Since I'm using Atari800Win PLus 4.0 emulator, how do I control in the game? I'm at the title screen and cannot do anything on it.

@iniche - you can control normally - by emulated joystick. It is up to you what kind of emulation you choose... I'm using PC numerical keyboard.
