It was explained in the series that Leo was giving drugs to Bobby to sell at school, and by going to Jacques directly for drugs he was pretty much betraying Leo. Because Jacques and Leo were such great buds it's obvious Leo got Jacques to set Bobby up and have him killed at the drug deal. The drug dealers death is also mentioned in the series.
