Teejay -- Christmas Reconstructed - Well, now -- what Christmas compilation would be complete without this gem? Heck, I've been singing this one since it came out in 1968... although, granted, my voice has changed a bit since then. Of all Christmas programs, this has always been my favorite one.
I walked a fine line here -- there is always the temptation, when dealing with Unpleasantless, to "jump the shark" and go too far into the grim and dark side. But the Grinch is just so humorously grinchy, I kept coming back to the fun of it. Booker T. and the MG's, the Doors, and Wolfman Jack provided the backing.
The Wolfman vocal really captures the spirit of the song, the music is great, the images putting the Grinch in all those evil contexts, all much fun.
