@PureLiterary: One of the more misinterpreted songs of all time, word was that "Turning Japanese" refers to the Oriental facial features people get at the moment of climax during masturbation. In a VH1 True Spin special, they asked The Vapors about this song, and they explained that it is a love song about someone who lost their girlfriend and was going slowly crazy.

@PureLiteraray: On "Adults Only 20 to 1: Saucy Songs" screened on the Nine Network Australia 2nd April 2009 the rumour that this song was about "masturbation" was highly exaggerated. The truth is that David Fenton would alternately confirm and deny the rumor.

@VampireateYuki This song is not about masturbation. This song about white guy in love with a Japanese girl, even the singer of the band said it wasn't about masturbation. I could that before it was about masturbation, but that is bullshit.
