Our beloved Pomeranian died recently. He sustained fatal injuries following a brief but brutal attack from a neighbor dog. The offending dog was unleashed and not completely supervised. However, we bear no malice toward the neighbor though, because she took responsibility for everything. She paid to have Hercules euthanized and she even put her own dog down. That must've been very tough for her to do. There have been casualties on both sides.

This should serve as a cautionary tale for people who own dogs. Big dog owners should know their pet's proclivities. Are they aggressive towards small animals? Cats, rabbits, small dogs, etc. Small dog owners should be aware of their surroundings while on a walkabout and perhaps they should also arm themselves with defensive weapons as well.

Our family is sick with grief and we'll be in mourning for quite some time. Everyone loved and cherished Hercules. We already miss him terribly and he shall always be remembered and loved.
