Glowstringing Tutorial

http://www.glowsticking.com/

This is a tutorial designed for people who wanted to start glowstringing but has never done it before.

The tutorial starts by answering some of the most common questions such as how to tie the strings and how to hold them, then moving on to teach the Weave, Windmill, and Butterfly.

All you need is a pair of shoelaces and a pair of 6 inch glowsticks (either used or unused) then you can start here.

Some people like their shoelaces round and thin, some like theirs flat and thick. It doesn't matter as long as you are comfortable with them. Try different kinds and experiment until you find a kind that suits you.

  • @dnohl75 Haha yeah I've been wanting to glowstring for a while, I've been waiting for it to get warm so I can do it outside :3

  • When doing the butterfly, it looks good in the mirror, but I can hear the strings chaffing one another. Is that normal, or should you not hear anything [strings should not make any contact]?

  • @narushio3 On my fist time I tied scotch tape rolls at the ends of my shoelaces I've never hit myself with them but I believe the hurt less. Either way now I'm proacticing with glowsticks I've never activated. I hit them against everything and they never accidentally activated or anything, they're only five bucks a pair and you don't need to buy a new one each time.

  • @epicfailmusician They make it looks so easy and the also make the glow sticks look so light and harmless...I practiced for not even two hours until now. I can do the windmill for a few seconds before hitting myself. I'm still in pain.

  • @dnohl75 Or get shorter strings :p

  • Gah I can get everything but that damn windmill. That shits tricky.

  • i nearly broke my nose X'D

  • people should deff try learnign with the plastic ones lol i doQ

  • Learning is fun.

  • Is it sad that the butterfly is the only one I can do without breaking lamps?
