  • Dick Dale is NOT the original artist of this.

this song is traditional greek song and it was composed back in 1927 by Patrinos!

  • nobody cares who you are.

  • @kleinebudde

What unique guitar playing, He uses only one string !

  • @Angiewinx Patrinos was the first performer of the song, but also not the actual composer. Nobody knows who wrote the song but it's Dick Dale's awesome arrangement that made the song so great. His unique guitar playing.

  • @Angiewinx Also wrong. It was first performed by Patrinos but not written. Nobody knows the actual composer of the song. Dick Dale in a way is the original artist of THIS song, he kept the melody but his unique guitar playing etc., that's what made it so awesome. At least one can say that it's his amazing arrangement of the song :).

  • wow this is so cool and much more interesting than actually listening to the original track....

  • I always loved that ending rift

  • @Angiewinx Actually, Misirlou predates that 1927 recording. It's been around for quite a long time and that 1927 recording is not even the first recording. The wikipedia article is incorrect. Do a search for 'The Mystery of Misirlou'...it's a very interesting article about the history of this song.

  • but dick dale perfect it

  • well, youve hit a FEW of the notes. Do you have any idea what the song is about? OH, RIGHT! you are from the...er...SCIP generation..Stupid, Clueless, Ignorant and Proud of it. Sorry to stress your brain cells. I think you will need both of them...

  • of course it's Greek!!! the original is actually a folk greek song...Initially, the song was composed as a Greek zeibekiko dance, in the rebetiko style of music, at a slower tempo and a different key than the orientalized performances that most are familiar with today... and when we re talking about rebetiko we mean the absolute Greek folk music, really traditional and really harsh!!!!!

  • im a lefty playing as a righty and i still play better -_-
