I just listened to a Gerry Mulligan Quartet cd ("On the Road, Live in California", circa 1951, when Chet Baker was with the group). I've always liked this tune, so I searched for it on the net. Although your cover wasn't what I was searching for, I was glad to listen to you, nonetheless. Again, nice job on the bari!!!!!
nice song man. I love the Bari sax. Lol you know what might help you a lot though? A chair, haha. Either get a chair or raise up your music so you don't have to lean over like that. My back hurts just watching this.
Nice overall Bari sound. As the previous posts said relax and the tune will swing more. Think about the name of the tune. What does Nights at The Turntable mean to you? I am thinking a turntable at a railroad roundhouse for turning steam locomotives. This tune is from Mulligans Age of Steam Album. Night is a special time on the railroad. I know I work at the railroad and engine houses are especially that way. Also I play tenor sax. Get it. saxhonkinhhogger. Hogger = engineer on the railroad.
You've actually got a pretty nice sound man, you've just gotta kinda lay back, and then it will swing and be more in time. Sorry, I can't really think how to describe it any better than that
more bari sax
