Welcome back to Autism Talk TV. In episode seven, Alex and Jack are back for part two of our interview with Steve Silberman of Wired Magazine, author of the groundbreaking article, "The Geek Syndrome," which addresses the rise of autism in Silicon Valley. Part one of the interview can be seen in the sixth episode of Autism Talk TV. As the interview continues, Steve shares several important contributions to society made by individuals on the spectrum.

  • Thank you Alex and Jack for putting these segments together! As an unoficially-diagnosed Aspergian myself with a diagnosed 11 year old A.S. son, I can really relate to the topics and guests you've interviewed. This segment was great--the world has severely underestimated the contributions which Aspergians have made to it! :-)

  • @EABeaudry thanks!

  • @PassionPartiesByTess You're not stealing the name "Aspergian". In fact, lots of people with Asperger's call themselves Aspergians, along with Aspies, like myself for example.

    * Alex's weird laugh *

    What's the joke? I don't get it. THAT"S NOT FUNNY!

  • Good one Alex!

  • I'm loving this series and I especially like this video ;)

  • Fantastic! I was talking to may father about how autism has a lot of challenges but it also has a lot of upsides, perhaps the most obvious one being the superior intellect of those on the high end of the spectrum. We both know that without many autistic individuals, we'd have not progressed this far. This video asserts my view. Thank you, Alex and Jack, for posting this video. I'm glad there are some pro-autism experts still left alive. (If you didn't already guess, I have HFA as well). :)

  • I love this segment! -an aspie

  • I'm very happy to have found your webisodes today! I am subscribing today and I look forward to many more informative episodes!

    I am the mother of a 5 year old Autistic boy and my husband and I believe he is an "Aspergian" (Sorry guys, I love that word and I am stealing it!!)
