Windmills have been used in Iran as early as the 7th century AD. Some of these are still operational in Nashtifan, near Khaf, northern east of Iran.

  • wow

  • These are not the ancient ones, and I guess that even the models were much different. I see no stop pegs on these. Also the first documentation on built wind mills is from 9th centurty AD in Persia (Afghanistan).

  • what is it good for ???

  • They probably use the energy of the wind to turn a grist mill for grinding grain.

  • Whats the point of it?
