Rod McKuen wrote this song in 1963. Other songs he wrote include "Blessings In Shades of Green," "Petula in Green Waters, "Pastures Green" and "The Green Hills of England" so it's pretty obvious what his favourite colour was.

"Someplace Green" was recorded by Jimmie Rodgers not long after it was written, and McKuen has said that this is his favourite recording of the song. Others who have recorded it include The Oak Ridge Boys and Kamahl.

  • Oops!!! It was obviously the pop singer. Sorry for the oversight.

  • Good one. *****. Do you mean Jimmie Rodgers, the singing brakeman or the pop singer? Thanks for sharing, Georgia.
