Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Speedrun Final Segment

My goal was under 45 minutes for this run, so getting under 40min was pretty nice. This isn't perfect, but I wasn't really going for perfect. My only goals were to not die, of course, and not miss one Erinys. I missed one axe swing, but I let it slide, among other things. For the 1st phase, my original plan was to burn out my MP, refill completely, then burn it out again, using axe hits afterwards. I decided not to refill this time in hopes I'd be able to defeat the 3rd head quicker, which I did. That alone might've given me the sub40. This might've been even quicker if I was one level higher. With that, Erinys would've done more damage.

you didn't get the doppelganger soul? that would have made all the armor switching you did a heck of a lot easier.

It's unnecessary. All the Doppleganger soul does is save a couple trips to the pause screen. It's purely a convenience. I lose no time by not using it, as the pause screen doesn't count towards the game's clock. In fact, getting the soul would actually waste a second or two.

I'm not sure if this works or not, but one thing that you could try to make the run faster with is by using the jump to cancel the back dash before you get the black panther soul.

what happens is that when you cancel it with the jump, you're still moving in the air for a bit at a higher speed than your walking speed. If you time it right so that you can do it as soon as you land repeatedly, I think you could cut off quite a bit of time.

And how many Axe Armors are required to get lvl9? If it's 3, it might be worth considering.
