First Annual Draw Muhammad Day 2010

The reason I participated in "Draw Muhammad Day" is to make the world a better place. Let me explain.

If you are Matt Stone, Trey Parker (the writers of South Park) or you are one of the Danish cartoonist then I have helped to make you safer by spreading out the hatred of the Muslim extremists. It is shameful the cowardly way most people have run away and left you guys out to hang. Freedom is not cheap and it is not fair that you should pay such a high price for our freedom - especially when it would be so easy for everyone of us to stand beside you and basically end the problem overnight. If every one of us says no to the Muslim extremists then they will just have to give up.

If you are a moderate Muslim then I have helped to make you safer. The way I see it is that you are more likely to suffer the wrath of the extremists than just about anyone. If an atheist says he doesn't believe in Allah then the extremists just ignore him. If a Muslim says he thinks we shouldn't get so upset about drawing Muhammad he might get killed. I am guessing that there are millions of moderate Muslims that are thankful for Draw Muhammad Day because it signifies that the end to the insanity is near. The problem is that you can never tell me this. In fact, you must pretend to be outraged just to avoid suspicion. I refuse to believe that hundreds of millions of moderate Muslims actually get upset about a drawing of Muhammad.

If you are a non-Muslim then I have helped to make you safer. This problem we have with the extremists can come to an end with lots of bloodshed, or with a whimper. The Draw Muhammad Day concept is the solution - the way to end this with a whimper.

If you are a Muslim extremists then I have helped to make you safer. Imagine (and get prepared for the day) that all the freedom loving people tell you that they aren't afraid of you and that they are going to be free and that you can't stop them. Now you have to kill not only the Danish cartoonist, the South Park team but millions of other people. This is going to take you more time than you thought. You are going to give up being outraged because we don't care anymore. This will lower your blood pressure and help you to live longer. I hope some day we can all have a good laugh over this and get along peacefully.

Finally, to those who are upset with people drawing Muhammad I would like you to think about two things.

1) Your holy text tells you to avoid eating pig meat. When those outside of your religion eat pig meat do you get angry? No, because your holy text is talking to adherents, not the infidels. Likewise, when your holy text tells you to not draw Muhammad it is instructing YOU to not draw Muhammad, not the infidels.

2) The reason Muhammad did not want his image to be drawn is because he did not want people to start visualizing the image when thinking of him which could lead to people worshiping the image. Do you really think people are going to start worshiping a stick figure or a Teddy Bear?
