In celebration of the 21st century, the sailing vessel Hornblower II, a 46-foot ketch, joined the Millennium Odyssey on a circumnavigation starting and ending in St. Petersburg, Florida. The event commenced with a flame-lighting ceremony in Jerusalem and ended Easter Day 2000 at the Vatican with a presentation of the flame to Pope John Paul.
