I flew across the country to see the premiere of the movie and even got to see Mark feed the flock in person. If I lived out there, there's no way I would even contemplate trying to feed the flock myself. It would have been impossible for me (or anyone) to have the same relationship with them as Mark did. Other people feeding the parrots after the story became popular seems to really cheapen the whole idea. Do something original w/your life. You don't have to feed the parrots to appreciate them.

It would be nice to let anyone feed the wild parrots - but there are idiots in the world and I honestly believe Mark and Judy didn't want the public feeding the birds for good reason. When we were there, some idiot threw a CIGARETTE butt in the air for them and one caught it. There will always be fools who will feed them the wrong thing. A sad fact.

Lakebird- Not to ruin your good feelings but when the local people started connecting to the wild parrots by feeding them Mark Bittner and Judy Irving went to City Hall to stop them. Their hypocrisy is appalling and unquestionable.
