@dorielementary Its not a competition, music is a subjective experience. Listen to these solos again in 5 years time, and you may form a different opinion. For example, I find that your descriptionis are vice versa to how I interpret it. I think Lane's playing here is very one-dimensional and sounds more like picking-exercises, whislt Garsed sounds by far the most musical. Its unusual, because normally I love Lane, but here I think he was a little short on ideas.

@proteoid @proteoid Garsed plays really SQUARE! You can almost hear the metronome clicking. Sounds like a bunch of picking exercises strung together. Shawn Lane's is far more musical, expressive, and, of course, technical. No shame being second to Shawn Lane though. Garsed will surely improve as he matures as a player.

@dorielementary I disagree. Whilst I love Lane, I think that Garsed actually smokes Lane on this track in terms of taste and phrasing. Hey, just my opinion though !

Great!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Outstanding playing =)

That's cool but you need to try the Shawn Lane solo. Garsed is good but Lane pretty much smokes him.

I'm one day away from finishing the whole transcription of Brett's solo in this piece. I did it on guitar pro 6!
