  • Why if this is 1966 is Garlits driving a rear engine car?

  • @MonteHoopla: The radio commercial is from 1966. The pics could very well be from another year!

  • gibran53: I also believe Rube Weiss and Robin Seymour made this commercial.

  • I believe Van Patrick was the original "SUNDAY" voice (aside from his sportscasting - he owned radio stations)

  • I had a bran new 66 Nova SS. Detroit Dragway cost me a lot of money in broken parts!! I loved it!!

  • these came in loud and clear in Cleveland too, from the Big 8, CKLW back then...

  • You were not a Detroiter if you didn't do Motor City Dragway on Saturday night in the'60s.

  • Some good memories of racing there in '66-'67.

  • Went there a couple of times in 1966.. saw Mr Norm defeat several including Chevoom which exploded and caught fire. It was outrageous!!

  • Sounds like Rube Weiss and Robin Seymour on this promo. Rube was a local Detroit media guy who did MANY, MANY radio and TV spots. Robin was a deejay on WKMH and WKNR radio.
