  • This is a simplified version and if I don't miss my guess it was used to embarass the player who is far beyond this simple piece. Must have diddled the tutor's daughter.

  • @petie32 Simplified version ? LOL A simmplified version would probably be one that was in a much lower key.

Please advise how this is different from the supposed original more complex version

  • agree with all, piano going to fast, some small pitch problems. And HOLD THE TRUMPET UP. I understand the music is down there, but you can't look at the music if it hurts your tone. Raise the stand up a little higher and aim your trumpet so it's right to the right above the stand. Since you don't have a conductor (well, some do) it's easy to look down to the left and get the view. Works for me and it would probably help in situations like this.

PS: If stand is as high as can go, i'm sorry.

  • 1. The piano went the same speed as me.

    2. Who needs a conductor if its just trumpet and piano ?

  • @trumpetpete You are not doing any of the standard ornaments that go with this piece. Thus making it a "simplified version"

  • Omg your awesome I am 13 and I have to do that for a festival and it looks soooo easy for you. You are completely AWESOME!!!!

  • This exact music was played at my son's wedding -- piccolo trumpet and organ, however. The tempo was much, much slower. In my opinion, the tempo here is way too fast. The trumpet player did a good job, however. I am guessing the tempo I love is around 60 beats per minute--majestic!

  • @MusicalHoneyBe yes?

  • @ActorFlautista because it depends on his mouth shape, i know someone who is an amazing trumpeter but because he has an overbit he cant hold the trumpet up with completely screwing up the embouchure (mouth)

  • @detaono

  • Not a bad sound, but why is he holding the trumpet as if it were a clarinet or something?

  • trills?

  • @trumpetpete It is a simplified version.... where are the trills//?

  • This was very impressive :) I haven't ever heard it performed at this tempo, but I enjoyed it. I agree with this petie fellow though, because your tonality greatly depends on posture. might seem like more of a comment I'd give to a singer, but narrowing your throat by looking down can have an immense impact on where you sit on a pitch when youre playing the trumpet. though it wasnt incredibly out of tune, try to listen and sit on the middle of the pitch. all in all though, great :)
