Thanks for the commets. The sliding shelf is a good idea. The reason I went the way that I did was that my printer is quite small with no scanner, and I wanted height adjustability. On the electronics inside the cabinet, you are right, this could potentially cause problems if the electronics run hot, or are heavily used. Mine are used only a couple times per week, and the printer powers down automatically within minutes of printing so it doesn't noticeably raise the temp in the cabinet.

Hmm, generally an attractive solution.

Can't say I'm a big fan of putting printers in cupboards. Makes it hard to scan documents and service the printer. Would be easier if there were slide-out shelves.

I'd also invest in better ventilation for that cupboard as well. Who knows what equipment will be placed in there and what the risks will be of fire or over-heating. Given the popularity of wireless, it's a lot safer and more convenient to find a better place for your printer.
