"Go back home" by Scout, This documentary produced by JTV explores the impacts of recently enforced 3am lockouts, with special guest and star, Julian Souva of Paddington.
judy spence is a moron, now there is just hundreds of people on the street at 3am angry as hell because they're all trying to get in a taxi. Anyone that's ever tried to get a cab at 3am in the valley knows how violent people can get when they've waited for over an hour just to get home. That's where the fights are
I think the logic behind it is that they figure by 3am that people will just say "fuck it" and go home if they're trapped outside. If you made it any earlier (say, 1am) then you'd have a lot of angry people roaming the streets and if you made it any later, wouldn't make much sense because you may as well abandon the lockout rule. Also, the girl at about 4:15 makes a good point + 3am gives you ample time to co-ordinate schedules with friends or whatever.
@coasteys interesting point. I for one think reporting on Hack etc is quite skewed towards a left wing perspective which I find frustrating. However, just like everyone else, I have a unique opinion which will differ from other individuals. My argument is not that I am right or wrong but rather that although this interview and reporting may be skewed towards a particular audience, it is not necessarily 'shit reporting'.
so the reporter bags out the police for not having stats on assaults then freely and openly accepts information from a cabbie who himself rhad no stats? shit reporting
at least there's nowhere near as many shootings in OZ as in the US, i'm a "valley rat" and i've only been in a couple fights in there and i've been going constantly for a few years now.

@shikira How about just not close at all? This isn't the 1950's.

Someone I know suggested random lockout times, so not anyone is locked out at 3am.

If you're between clubs after lockout, that's you're own dumb fault.

Best place to go if stuck outside of lockout is definitely casino...must be an exemption or something cause there's no lockout theree
