On a night with light to moderate traffic at Los Angeles International Airport in 1991, an air traffic controller mistakenly assigns an inbound USAir Boeing 737 the identical runway where a SkyWest Airlines commuter flight is awaiting departure clearance. Upon landing, the 737 collides with the small aircraft, skids off the runway, and strikes a building. All 12 passengers and crew on the SkyWest flight are killed, along with an additional 22 occupants on the USAir flight.

  • Wasn't that a Brasillia?

  • Light to moderate ATC? It was packed full with aircraft. It was heavy traffic which is why they forgot about the Metroliner.
