  • Tina Thomas was terminated by Nortel Networks in a downsizing involving a mass layoff of employees. Under Canadian employment law, Nortel is obliged to pay severance, but Nortel is hoping to escape paying severance by filing for bankrutpcy protection. This is a legal precedent setting case for Canada.
