Mark 16:16 does in fact teach that you must be baptized in order to be saved.

  • Are you supposed to have the Love Of Jesus in you towards your fellow man? if so, please refrain from diagnosing someone as a "Heretic".

  • Dear heretic.

Baptism in Mark 16:16 is not refering to water baptism.

There is an article on my website explaining Mark 16:16. The link is on my profile.

    Mark 1:8

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

    Chris

    Jesus is Lord!

  • Mark 16:16 compliments Matthew 28:19. These are two different accounts of the same speech that Jesus gave at his ascension.

So If I am to believe that Mark 16:16 is not referring to water baptism, this means that Matthew 28:19 also is not referring to water baptism.

This view is not evidenced with the scriptures.

    Mark 16:16-18 **

  • Mark 16:16 clearly proofs that the bible is corrupted

  • Thank you for this video. It makes the passage make more sense, considering how we have so few words with precise meaning in comparison to the Greek language

  • Actually someone else addressed my point in pointing out that the theif was saved prior to the resurrection, so he was not saved under the new covenant, and accordingly the new rules did not apply to him.

As to how I know he sinned again though, I can only assume that he did because he was a man, not God, so he, like us, was incapable of living without sin, no matter how brief the time. Also, not to get off on a tangent, but thought (ie: coveting) can be a sin.

  • A thought is not a sin. when you act on an evil thought, that is sin.

random things may pop into your mind without you consent, especially if you are a man.

But sin is defined as a willful or deliberate violation of God Law and word.

I've never heard your theories. you have absolutely no bible references which prove the thief sinned again. he was hanging on a tree for crying out loud...what could he have done? im sure he was a bit pinned down at that time.

  • Jesus name baptism is not a ritual but a commandment. If it were a "ritual" then we'd be ritually baptizing ourselves weekly or monthly or whatever then it'd be "ritual". Baptism in Jesus name is done once which doesn't make it a ritual by definition. Christ actually did give commandments or "rules" not philosophical principles. For those not baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins they'd have to be baptized properly or it's useless.

  • Amen Brother!!!

  • I commend my brothers and sisters in Christ who insist upon ritual baptism by immersion. I commend you for your zeal in trying to ensure that God's Word is followed to the letter.

However, I think you may be missing the forest because of the trees.

Don't just blindly quote narrow passages of scripture. Use the brain God gave you to consider the totality of the Bible, and the main idea of Jesus.

His whole ministry was about replacing a "rules based" faith with a "principles based" faith.
