Round 3: Canada Post Workers Fight Suspension Threats

On Friday, March 4th, Depot 6 became the 7th out of 10 letter carrier stations in Edmonton to refuse forced overtime because of health & safety concerns. In response, management immediately began intimidating the Depot 6 workers with direct orders and threats of emergency suspension if they didn't comply. Postal workers in other Edmonton stations found this approach by management unacceptable and organized solidarity actions to demand no discipline for any worker trying to protect their health & safety.

it is about time!!! unfortunately my station is full of people who are afraid of their shadows, and would rather complain about forcebacks as opposed to refusing them.only 2 of us have refused....

The workers are coming full circle. They threw their so called reps out on their ass in 1965 and if CUPW doen't deal with these problems now they to will be out on their duff

If you managers or supervisors think that I'm gonna wait outside at a relay box and wait for mail from a driver that doesn't exist because of your staffing shortfalls, wait there for hours while my insulin pump freezes up, you have another thought coming. You are putting people at risk and we won't put up with it. Canada Post letter carriers are not unreasonable people. Canada Post management, on the other hand, are.
