  • I really like your videos easy to follow.

The problem I have is I don't know where to start or how to organize my program. I am using Corona. I don't know the questions to ask myself about the program I am writing to get started. I can get the simple items like images on the screen but I lose my way when I try to animate or provide collision events. If you could tell me what questions I need to be able to answer than I feel like I could do a decent program.

  • @kingmike40 I would suggest starting with a Game Design Document (there are lots of templates floating around the internet). It will help you to work out the full measure of your game and to ask the correct questions. I also recommend that you story board your game. If you have an idea of the sequence/look & feel, you'll be able to pull it all together much easier.

  • @GreatNorthWeb I am getting better, but I took almost two months off from programming and I only work on it in my spare time which isn't much.

  • @kingmike40 >>I don't know the questions to ask myself about the program I am writing to get started.

That is a great statement and explains exactly how I feel. After 2 months, do you feel like you are closer to understanding?

  • Hey Doc! I had a question on error handling. How the heck would we check to see if we got a null, or an error during our query? For instance if we tried querying a non existent column of data? Whenever you have time of course. :) Plus, where do you use 'output'? I didn't see it get assigned any data.

  • Nice demonstration. Looking forward to viewing more of your videos! Thanks!
