What does it mean to be "Libertarian"? I've gotten several messages requesting a video along these lines so I hope this fits the bill. How do you define Libertarianism? If a 70 second video is simply not enough info I recommend Marilee Haylock's What is Libertarianism? and of course http://lp.org America needs a new political voice. Americans need to reverse the unprecedented growth of the size and scope of our government. Americans need The Libertarian Party.

What is a Libertarian?
A Libertarian believes we should be free to control our own lives
That America needs to shift the power away from our centrally planned society
And return that power back to the individual

Libertarians believe we need to empower citizens
In the defense of their rights
In the defense of their lives
In the defense of their property
Not restrict them with red tape or legislate them away
Libertarians feel government should act only as our servant and never as our master

"The very concept of the individual is becoming obsolete."
Marilee Haylock - What is Libertarianism?

"I believe that totalitarianism, if not fought against, could triumph again."
George Orwell

1984 was not an instruction manual

Join a party that puts your rights first!

  • Please consider temporarily switching party to vote for Ron Paul. He's the closest you'll ever get to getting your ideals enacted in USA. There's not much time.

  • @magic2magic Every US Libertarian should consider your idea.

The ideas behind Libertarianism destroys the power of the top 1% by depriving them of the institutions needed to control other people. A wealthy group without any power is no threat to anybody. Perhaps you should educate yourself.

  • Do a UK version.

  • We need a libertarian republic as soon as possible!

  • @novedzor But, not everyone wants that! There's more than enough people capable of learning on their own. They don't need the government to do it for them. How do you think we got here in the first place?

  • @magic2magic

Most libertarians were for Ron Paul before it was cool to be for Ron Paul!

He was after all our candidate in 1988...

  • Morals + logic = Libertarian

Every citizen should have access to free pistol and shotgun home defense course paid for by their taxes which will also be a Conceal Carry class. (plenty of retired military / cops to train people) disband most of police force except for detectives & swat and have a militia which consist of anyone who wants to join.

Your taxes are now being spent on something for you! and in doing this crime is reduced since people have full ability to defend one another.

  • Cut spending, abolish the income tax, end the FED, introduce sound money, RON PAUL 2012!

  • @DivinelyMochaDipped If they're doing so much better why is the unemployment rate in Europe half again what it is in the U.S? Why do so many nations in Europe have to put 'austerity' measures in place? Why do so many nations require periodic bailouts because of their horrific debt situations that make the U.S look thrifty by comparison? Want a society that exists on libertarian principles? Check out the economy of Hong Kong. Little regulation, a token min wage, and its doing great.

  • @exxumma Competition is limited, regulations prevent smaller businesses from entering the market, and the entire socialistic model revolves around reactionary legislation and mob rule. You can already see the system taking its toll on Europe. Unions prevent immigrants and the poor from entering higher paying jobs, governments impose moral and economic restrictions on their citizens, and people have been taken down to the point that they rely on government for vitrtually everything. It's sad.

  • @Objectivist1994

nd at the end of the day everyone's poor and starving<--u're a lunatic. why don't you research current socialist countries right now and u'll find they are doing better than the United States. -_-

    Wtf, u r so off.
