Gro & Katja - Hurricane

The idea for this video came to me a while back, but until recently I hadn't quite been able to make it all come together. Although strictly speaking, this is a Gro & Katja fan video, I have tried to do things differently by giving it a bit of a narrative structure, both in respect to the song's lyrics and the images used.

The video clips I used come from a variety of sources, but a large part of the credits goes to TV2 Denmark, especially with regards to match footage. The matches I chose for this video were the FCM Håndbold vs. HC Podravka match played in Ikast on 21 February 2009, and the FCM Håndbold vs. HYPO Niederösterreich match played in Ikast on 28 February 2009. You can download those matches at the Gro Hammerseng Fan Forum (registration required).

The song I used is "Hurricane" from the album "This Is War", by 30 Seconds to Mars. The song and the album are available for purchase on iTunes and on Amazon.com (and of course on the official 30 Seconds to Mars website, thirtysecondstomars.thisisthehive.net).

@martinirye You're very welcome. I still can't quite believe it, either. This was that last thing I expected and I was really shocked by the news when I first heard about it.

@martinirye The official announcement was made on August 6th, 2010, and was reported by most major Norwegian media, such as TV2 Sporten, Oppland Arbeiderslad, Verdens Gang, Aftenposten, and even on the official Larvik Håndballklubb website. Very sad, indeed.

It does seem a bit prophetic, in the light of the recent events surrounding Katja and Gro, doesn't it? Initially, my idea was to show how Gro and Katja had been struggling with the decision to stay with FCM or not; but now, I can see how there might have been a subconscious part of me that could see the writing on the wall...
